CARE OF BABIES.
The municipal authorities of Sydney are distributing pamphlets on "How to Take Care of Babies." The publication is issued by authority of the Department of Health with a foreword by Dr. J. Ashburton Thompson, and contains some valuable information to young mothers. The general directions deal with domestic hygiene and sanitation, and impress particularly the value of fresh air and cleanliness. . "Feed the baby by the clock," is the admonition contained in the opening paragraph, which also states, "one of the chief causes of sickness in, babies is over-feeding." The danger of overclothing babies is also touched upon, as well as the advisableness of teaching clean habits. " You cannot begin too early," reads the warning.
