ANGRY PARISIAN MOB.
ATTACK ON A PRISONER. THREATS TO THE JUDGE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received August 7. 10.25 p.m.) Paris, August 7. As Mme. Crespy, an authoress, who is accused of murdering a priest named Chassaing, was proceeding from the prison to the Court yesterday, a mob of women surrounded her, pelted her with refuse, and assailed her with bitter epithets. The judge has received numerous letters urging him to send the prisoner to the guillotine. The jury has also been threatened with violence if they acquit her. The evidence yesterday mainly tended to show that the priest was unlikely to commit suicide. One witness testified that the deceased told him that Crespy pestered him with her attentions.
