ROWDY HOLIDAY-MAKERS.
FIGHT IN THE DOMAIN.
THREE MEN ARRESTED.
A disturbance, which was fortunately frustrated in its early stages by the timely arrival of several constables, occurred in the midst of several thousand people in the Auckland Domain yesterday afternoon. The row terminated in the arrest of three young men on charges of being drunk and disorderly, while one of the trio is also charged with resisting tho police and inciting others to resist the police. Two of the men started quarrelling, and they were soon surrounded by a large crowd of people, many of whom displayed a lively interest in the fight, and forgot about the sports proceeding on the oval. Soon a third man took part in the fight, and when the police arrived the crowd was so dense that they had difficulty in pushing their way through to the centre of the trouble. When the offenders were arrested one of them endeavoured to escape from the constables. Tho three men who have been arrested will appear at the Police Court this morning. Several other minor disturbances took place, but were effectively quelled without necessity for making any further arrests.
