MAWSON'S EXPEDITION.

COMMUNICATION BY WIRELESS. [BY TELEGRAPH. — CORRESPONDENT.] Christchuhch, Monday. Dr. Mawson, /who is to conduct an exploring expedition to the Antarctic towards the end of the year, leaving, Sydney in about two months, is considering the possibility of establishing a wireless station on the Macquarries, which are situated about 800 y miles - south-west of Invercargill. If this can be carried out, and provided the Dominion stations are ready in time, the scheme will be of much assistance to Federal meteorology ' and probably to New Zealand meteorology also.
