DARING BURGLARIES.

FIVE . SHOPS VISITED.

[BT TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] Palmkrston North, Saturday. A series of daring burglaries were perpetrated in Palmerston North last night, no fewer than five shops in the Square being entered from a right-of-way at the rear. The places visited include those of Moslem, tobacconist Richardson, bootmaker; Westmoreland, stationer; and RavcnhiU, land agency. The intruders ran riot among the goods, scattering articles and damaging appliances. Nothing of great value was etolen, and evidently tho burglars were after money. The operations were rather amateurish.
