ON THE MAIN TRUNK LINE.
PROGRESS OF OWHANGO.
[BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Owhango, Wednesday. During the last 12 months Owhango has made remarkable progress. Towards the end of last year two truck loads of goods per week were handled at the railway station, and now six trucks per day is the average. A truck load of furniture per week also comes in for newly-founded homes. r
Mr. James Mackenzie, Commissioner of Crown Lands, has been in Owhango during the last few days, and intends opening up further township sections to satisfy the keen demand ; also small sections as holding paddocks for the settlers farther back. Three large sawmills are already working and a fourth is to be shortly erected.
