MEETINGS.
SOCIETY OF ACCOUNTANTS. A mkkting of the Auckland district members of tho Now Zealand Society of Accountants was hold in tho Chamber of Commerce, Swanson-stroet, last evening, to discuss tho question of forming a local centro of the society. Mr. H. Shaw was elected chairman. It was decided to form a branch to bo called (ho Auckland and District Society of Accountants. Tho following members wore appointed a committee — Messrs. E. \V. Evans, H. Gerard, W. Takle, and Jeavons, while Messrs. H. Shaw, A. B. Roberton, and T. B. Howarth, local members of the New Zealand Council, will act on the committer cx officio. A draft of tho society's rules was read by Mr. E. W. Hunt, secretary for New Zealand, and approved with slight amendments. Among tho objects which it is proposed to advocato are tho formation of a local, library and an accountants' students' society. At a meeting of tho committee subsequently, Mr. Shaw was elected chairman. It was decided that applications bo called for the office of secretary, Mr. G. W. Hutchison carrying out tho duties in tho meantime.
MOUNT ALBERT ROAD BOARD.
Tho monthly meeting of the Mount Albert Road Board was hold last evening, there being present: Messrs. M. J. Coylo (chairman). F. J. 11. Ellisdon, J. U. "Walters, C. W. Harris, T. B. Clay, J. M. Stanton, A. E. Freeman. Attention was drawn by the chairman to tho unsatisfactory nature of certain buildings lately erected in the district, and it was decided to obtain a report on tho subject, from the building inspector. Tt was also resolved that no more permits bo issued for this class of building. Tho tender of Mr. F. Wilson for the supply of dog collars for the ensuing year was accepted, (lie price being tho same as last year.
