Wellington, Monday. ■ At the conference of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants to-day it was decided to appoint an assistant to tho general secretary, giving the hitter more time for organising work. The general, secretary's salary was increased to £300 per annum- ' ■ ' * '.
