London, December 5. Sir Edward Grey (Secretary tf State for Foreign Affairs), in opening the International Naval Conference in London, declared that its object was.to assure the success of the Prize Court Convention drafted at The Hague, which, if firmly established, would remove many difficulties which hitherto had been potential causes of international differences. • -■' ■<
Such an agreement, he added, would do something to draw the nations closer together.
