WHERE TWINS REIGN.

Knurr pairs of twins being educated at one school at the same time is surely a remarkable fact. Handheld Council school, Guildford, high up on the famous Surrey Hills, has this proud record. Some 50 little mites were playing with the whole-heartedness of babyhood in their class-room one afternoon when 'a newspaper representative paid a surprise visit. A large rocking-horse was in full gallop, three tiny girls, their faces flushed with pleasure, being seated on its back. Presently one of the teachers gave a- word of command. The little ones dropped their toys, and, lining up like miniature soldiers, were told to ".March." This was their dismissal, and tumbling one against the other they scampered away. " Yes, it is quite true, there are eight pairs of twins in the school," the teacher said, smilingly, "but they are all over the place by now." Then commenced a hunt for the twins. Seven pairs were found and were marched off to the ground adjoining the drill hall, where they willingly stood for their photos, to be taken, afterwards being regaled with cakes and sweets to their hearts' content. The school records of these twins are uniformlv excellent. Of the first pair, Arthur and Ruth Duffili. aged 13, of Beach Cottage, Epsom Road, Arthur, a bright lad, holds a certificate for good attendance, while his- sister, a. pretty girl, with, nutbrown hair, is the proud possessor 'of a prize for efficiency and a certificate for attendance. . Robert and Norman Goodeve are also 13 years old, and live at Rose Cottage, London Road. They are intelligent lads and hold certificates for attendance. Florrie and Mabel Pinder, 10 years of age, are the daughters of a tradesman in the town. They are. bright little girls, and both have won prizes and certificates at school. Minnie and Mabel Self, aged 12 years, who live at 11. Hayderi Plate, have been at 'school ever since they can remember. They' are excellent scholars - and are spoken of very highly. The same remark applies to Beatrice and Arthur Radcliffe, aged 10 years, of 42, Falcon Road. Fred, and Willie Botting, aged eight years, live at 23, Springfield Road. George and Clement Avery, aged, four years, two chubby little chaps dressed in sailor splits, live in Woodbridge Road. There remained one more pair, and these were found paying a visit to a friend's house. They are Ethel and Nellie. Scott, two dear little babies a little over two years old! Their mother was deservedly proud of them, as she brought thempretty pictures in spotlessly white pinafores, tied with pale blue bowsto face the camera. At first they lustily objected, but after some coaxing, condescended to " hiok pleasant." According to Mrs. Scott, they are really two of triplets, the third baby having, however, died when only a day old. The King's bounty was applied for, but up to the present has not besn received. It would be interesting to know if any other school can beat Sandfield's record in the matter of twins.
