Waihi. Saturday. Tub quarterly meeting of the Upper Thume# Methodist Circuit was held here. The roll of membership, notwithstanding many removals, showed a slight increase. The chairman reported on the progress made at Marnaku, aiuL.said that the building of the new church Mould shortly be commenced.
The meeting unanimously adopted th« following resolution:—"That, in view of the approaching local option poll, we respectfully urge our people throughout the electorate covered by the circuit to, unite in the endeavour to bring the present baneful liquor traffic to an end, by entering into the crusade with a quickened enthusiasm, by seeing that their names and the names of all whom they are able to influence are placed on the electoral roil, by doing all in their power to educate public opiniou on the manifold benefits accruing to .those districts wherever no-license has been tried, and by conscientiously discharging their duty on the day of the local option poll."
