SIR J. WARD IN AUCKLAND.

VISIT TO COUNTRY DISTRICTS,

The Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Ward) arrived at Onehunga from Wellington yesterday morning, by the Rarawa. He attended the regatta at Ngaruawahia yesterday, and returned to town in the evening. This morning he will leave by special train to attend, in company with the Governor, the Maori gathering at Waharoa. Sir Joseph Ward will spend the night at Hamilton, and on Thursday ho will attend .a meeting of the natives at Ngaruiiwahia. On Friday the Prime Minister Mill proceed to Tauranga and from thence to Opotiki, returning to Auckland on Monday or Tuesday. He will deliver several speeches during the tour at various places, and on the evening of his return to Auckland he will deliver a public speech at Onehunga. The Hon. Jas. Carroll, Native Minister, was present at the Ngaruawahia, Regatta yesterday, and came to Auckland by train with the Prime Minister in the evening. This morning the Minister will proceed to Waharoa to the native gathering there. The Hon. Dr. Find lay, Attorney-General, will leave Wellington this evening for Lyttelton. On Thursday he will attend a funcition at Hawarden, and on Friday he will attend the Cheviot Agricultural and Pastoral Show. He will return to Wellington on Sunday morning.
