Mklijourne, July 3. j Mb. Dkakin, Prime Minister, stated toclay that the Government was being, convinced that the mail -syndicate was unable to carry on except with an indefinite delay.; He had cableu to Captain Collins last night to cancel the contract, and tenders would be called for the mail service to-morrow.
Arrangements were being made, he added, for the Orient Company to carry! oil the service until the new tenders had been dealt with. .. ,
