COUNT NIGRA DEAD.
By Telegraph.— Association Copyright. London, July 2. The death is announced of Count) Nigra, the Italian diplomatist, at the age of 80.
Count Constantino Nigra was born on June 12, 1827, and studied law at. the University of Turin. He entered the Diplomatic Service, and acted as secretary to Count Cavour at the Congress of Paris in 1856. He took part in the negotiations between Piedmont and France which preceded the war of 1859, at which he was present with the general staff of Napoleon 111. After having represented Italy in. Paris for 15 years as Minister Plenipotentiary, Count Nigra, was, .-r in May, 1876, appointed to fill the same post at St. Petersburg. He was nominated Italian Ambassador in Loudon in November, 1882. In 1885 he resigned the embassy in London, and was succeeded by Count Corti. He was afterwards sent as Italian Ambassador to .Vienna.
