ELECTRIC ENERGY FROM MAIN SEWERS.
—Will you kindly permit me to male* | a slight correction in- "the letter which appeared over my nam* in this morning's issue- Therein 1 am made to refer to the proposed town hall at an " aurieulated aggravation." AuricuiatetJ is :, go*ni word, and following the derivation ii should mean ["having little oars." So far as rev memory [servos me it moan? having projections shaped like ears jo that its application to ; the town -hail- might Ik> eoie-Hjered richer ! quaint unless one were to liken the alleged itower to what the Yorkdiironion ■ would call a little "lug." The word I u,ed in referrink' to tin'.'* isosceles triangle- 1 am afraid I iwrong the isofcolvt—-wa* apiculated. It i>-» the apex of thy triangle thai strike* one first, and I thought I was jin-tiried in referring to the creation generally as an " apiculatcd aggravation." Perhaps 1 mav adopt tho other word and call it now "ait apiculatcd unrieuiated aggravation." [ have hoard several people, ipeak v,.v highly of Mr. Myth's suggestion to build the Auekland town hall in" Albert Park overlooking ilk ; ,it -"- I' - A. V.UI.E. ' July 3..
■| Sir,—A main drainage sv.-tem for ** •| Greater Auckland being now" 'one of th« j leading subjects of discussion, it lint occurred to mo that in thp. fmnivn't volume (of witter that must pas* through the main (sewer in the drainage of the wide ana that jour city will eventually oner very great; jenergy will be developed, which tjyght possibly he turned to useful account in lh« j generation of electricity. Perhaps «>un> practical engineer among i!k> readers of the Herald might throw some light, on the possibilities in this direction. i 11. J. BLYTH.
