FIRES.
THREE HOUSES DESTROYED AT WANGANUI. ' ' [by telegraph.— PRESS association-.] " ■ , Wjaxganin, Friday. A fire occurred in the suburb of Sedgebrook early this morning, and three houses (the property of Messrs. H. Drew, C. Ferry and A. Mooney) were destroyed. The fire started in Mr. Drew's house, and no water supply being available the outbreak spread to the houses on. either side, from which the furniture was removed. The insurances are as follow: Drew, £250 in the Yorkshire office; Ferry and Mooney, £225 each in the North British and Mercantile office. Ferry's furniture was insured', for £100 in the Manchester office. Other insurances are unknown. / •ftSfcife; . ■ OUTBREAK AT NELSON. [BT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] , - Nelson, Friday. At one o'clock this morning a tobacconist's, .barber's, and general shop at ~Takaka,, occupied by Mr. John Moulder, and owned by Mr. J. Hyde, Taka-ka, was. destroyed by fire. Nothing was saved. The damage is estimated at £500. The stock was insured for £300 and the building for £100 in the Sun Insurance Company.
