Melbourne, May 8. ■ Letters from New Guinea indicate considerable uneasiness there respecting the immediate future of the possession. It is stated that the administration of the various divisions is becoming confused, and fears are entertained of the natives becoming hostile. Two of the district magistrates, Mr. Monckton and Mr. English, have resigned, and others intend to take a similar course."
