London, May 7. In the House of Lords yesterday the debate on "the second reading of Lord Newton's Bill for the reform of the House of Lords was adjourned. The Earl of Cawdor (Front Opposition Bench) moved that the Bill be referred to a select committee, bill Lord Crewe (Leader of the House) opposed both Bill and amendment on the ground that the Government was itself introducing a measure shortly which would deal less with the reform of the House of Lords than with the relations between the two Houses.
