DEVONTORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
An" ordinary meeting of the. Devonporfc Borough Council Was held in the Council Chambers, Devonport," last evening. .The Mayor (Mr. Wm. Handley) presided, and there were also7*present Messrs. R. ; H. Froude, H ;Wilding;. J. W. Crane, G.; A/; Gribbin, E. J. .Osborne, W. Timewell, D. W. McLean,- R. W. McCallum, .and Captain G. McKenzie. The following tenders were received for making 'a-sewer from Narrow Neck to Grove ' Road : —Messrs. Bingliam and Ross, £525 (accepted,^subject to engineer's approval); J as. - Magee, £608 2s 4d ; ;J. Billington,, £537, 1& ■4d ;,; and Mays and Gordon, £534 4s lOd. A letter was received from a Takapuna resident complaining that the 'buses; on the' Takapuna service did/not ['adhere "to 1 , the stipulated time-table. On the motion of the. chair it was decided to forward a copy of the -letter, .to, the police, i and < also to the 'bus. proprietors. Accounts amounting to £15* 7s* Id were /passed^for 'payment. " The /'secretary '■ of the Auckland Hospital ...end .Charitable Aid Board wrote stating that the Council's.. subscription for the year was £443 3s 9d. ',; The letter was received. ■ .*" •'.-"'-
