FOR the Transvaal elections there are 152 candidates, of whom 43 are members of the Het Volk, 39 are Independents, 31 Progressives, 22 Labour, and 17 Nationalists. There are, 92 candidates for the 31 Witwntersrand seats.
(Received January 28. 9.38 p.m.) Pretoria, January 28. It is stated in Pretoria that the Hot Yolk is willing to consent to any further importation of Chinese coolies the mineowners require if the Progressives will support a measure securing for the Boers an additional £10,000,000 as compensation for war losses.
There are 69 seats in the Assembly—34 for the. Band, six for Pretoria, and 29 for the rest of the colony. ,
