ESPLANADE AT PONSONBY.
HARBOUR ENGINEER TO REPORT.
Thk proposal to form an esplanade along the Pousouby foreshore lias engaged the attention of both the Harbour Board and the City Council. Recently the Council discussed' the 'question, and at a previous meeting of the Board a motion, by Mr. W. E. Hutchison, directing the engineer to report on the question, was referred to the Board committee. At yesterday's meeting of the Board the committee recommended that seeing the City Council proposes to erect baths at Shelly Beach, and with a view to having communication to the property situated to the rear of that recently acquired by the Auckland Gas Company from the Roman Catholic Church, the engineer of the Board be instructed to report as soon as possible, after consultation with the city engineer, on the alignment of a proposed esplanade along the Ponsonby foreshore. The Board agreed to the recommendation.
