■ i STEAMS 22i KNOTS. By Telegraph.— Association.— (Received October 10, 10.42 p.m.) .' ; ' London, October 10. The battleship Dreadnought, on a full-power trial, has attained a maximum speed of 22£ knots. The machinery worked with remarkable smoothness. The speed of the Dreadnought is two knots and a-quarter above the rate said to have been provided for. She is as fast as most of England's armoured cruisers, the highest speed of which is 24 knots. Germany has no armoured cruisers that have a speed of more, than 21 knots, but she is building, some with an estimated speed of 22 knots. •' .•
