SULTAN PROTECTS A FANATIC. By Telegraph.—Press Association.— / , : Morocco, October 9. The Sultan of Morocco is still affording protection to the fanatical sorcerer Malean, whose followers beat the German Consular agent at Marakish some time ago and maltreated the representative of a German firm. ,' - It was reported on September, 17 that Malean, a scorcerer from the Sahara, had been the guest of the Sultan, and that when on his. way to Singhit, his'followers had looted a store at Casablanca, belonging to a Frenchman, and had wounded several Europeans. They had also tried to incite the populace against the pursuers.
