NO MORE " EARLY GRAVES."

[by telegraph.—special correspondent.]

Wellington, Tuesday. The present Ministry, who are making a strong endeavour to bring about a regular "early closing" movement in the House (which tonight rose at twenty minutes past ten p.m.), are apparently determined to avoid early graves." Speaking at Shannon last night the Minister for Lands said that Ministers were determined ' that it should never happen again. that there should lie a man in this State who would put himself into an early grave simply to servo the people of New Zealand. (Hear, hear.) They believed it was not only a personal loss to the family, but was one of the greatest national losses that the country could suffer when its greatest men worked themselves into an early grave to serve the people. The present Ministry was determined that the load should be equally distributed amongst all the members. (Applause.) If the other members of the Cabinet were no more anxious than he was to go into an early grave, they would not work themselves into one in * hurry, iliaugfcker?) .
