RAILWAY WHARF TENDERS.
Two tenders were received by the Harbour Board yesterday for the extension to the Railway Wharf in reinforced concrete. Th© new piece will enable the Board to dispense with the present cross tee at the end of the old Railway Wharf, and extend with an incline eastwards, leaving additional fairway for vessels entering or leaving tho basin between tho two main wharves. The. engineer's estimate for the extension was £69,000, and the two tenders were the Ferro-Concrcte Company, £62,610, and Newson and Colson, £67,992 14s 6d.
