BANKRUPTCY RETURNS.
The bankruptcy returns for the combine! district of Auckland. New Plymouth, Stratford, Hawera. and Gisborae j'oi 1905 have just been completed, and show that during this period the total number of cases dealt with was 93, as compared with 85 in 1904 an increase of 13. The assets, ai per statements hied amounted to £51.204 4s 9d. as against £51,013 0s 6d in 1904, wh»le the amounts secured to creditors totalled £35,233 18s 8d in 1905, and only £19,357 10s !5d in 1901. The total amount of debts proved during 1905 was £63.3c32 2s 4d. as compared with £65,435 18s Id for the preceding 12 months. The assets realised and amounts paid in dividends during 1905 amounted to £17.625 7s 6d and £10,676 5s 8d respectively. The figures for assets realised and amounts paid in dividends in 1904 were £21,444 18s &i and £10,257 Is Id.
