THE GOVERNOR.
His Excellency the Governor (Lord j Plunket) distributed the prizes at the Three Kings Maori College yesterday. He was accompanied by Lady Plunket. The Governor will be present at the Grammar School prize distribution (his evening. Lady Plunket will also be present. . In the afternoon Her Ladyship will present the prizes at the Diocesan Girls' High School, Epsom. The Governor will be the guest of the Auckland Garrison Officers' Club at the club's rooms, Drill Hall, to-morrow. A garden party will be held at Government House on Saturday. On Monday next Lord and Lady Plunket will be present- at the production of Mrs. Malcomson Boult's play, "Ivy of York," in His Majesty's Theatre. VICE-REGAL VISIT TO THAMES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —own CORRESPONDENT.] Thames. Wednesday. A meeting of local bodies and citizens of the Thames was held at'the Borough Chambers this afternoon, to make arrangements for the proposed visit of His Excellency the Governor, which is to take place on Tuesday next. It was decided for the chairman and members of the Harbour Board to welcome His Excellency at the outer end of the wharf, and that at the shore end he should be received by the Borough and County Councils, and then escorted by them and a procession of volunteers, cadets, and friendly societies, to the platform to be erected near the borough chambers, where an illuminated address will be presented by the Mayor and the county chairman. His Excellency will then ,be entertained at lunch .at the Royal Hotel by the local bodies, and afterwards driven round to tho principal places of interest in the township. It was also decided to invite His excellency to a citizens' banquet in the evening. , .
