DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZES.

SACRED HEART COLLEGE, Tim ceremony of distribution of prize's in connection with the Sacred Heart College, Poiißonby, was held fn St. Benedict's Hall last evening. There was a very large attendance of parents and others. Prior to the ceremony an interesting programme of vocal, instrumental, and other items was contributed by the students of the college, and in every department the boys gave evidence of very careful and efficient training. Before the prizes were distributed the brother director read a report of the work done in the college during the year. Two day scholarships had been established, which were open for competition to the boys attending the brothers' school in Pitt-street, and a boarding scholarship was shortly 'to be established, which would be open to*'.the boys of the Marist Brothers'. schools throughout New Zealand. The health of the boys had been excellent during the whole year, and a splendid spirit had existed among them. In the absence of the Bishop (the Right Rev. Dr. Lenihan), the Very Rev. Monsignor O'Reilly, of Thame?, distributed the prizes, and he delivered a brief introductory address, commending the work of the college. The prize list was as follows:— Special Prizes.
