J WAIHI BEACH. [BY TELEGKAra.— CORRESPONDENT.] Waihi, Tuesday. The ;lode inthe crosscut at the Waihi Beach mine has been penetrated for over 25ft, and though tho results of tho assays are not yet available, the development is looked upon as an important one. The mine was visited to-day by Messrs. F. Moore, T. B. O'Connor, and Gray, directors of the company. They were accompanied by Mr. E. Adams, ' surveying engineer, of the Thames. WAIHI DISCOVERY. [BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Waihi, Tuesday. Messrs. A. J. Peacock, J. Thomas (directors), and A. J. Denniston (secretary) of tho Waihi Discovery Gold Mining Company, arrived here 'this evening for the purpose of thoroughly inspecting the company's property. AUCKLAND SHAREBROKERS' ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of members of tho Auckland Share-brokers' Association was held at noon yesterday. Officers for the ensuing 12 mouths were elected as under: —Chairman, Mr. G. A. Buttle ; vice-chair-man, Mr. R. Prater; secretary, Mr. H. P. Hudleston; committee, Messrs. R. G. Macky, J. C. Colbeck, W. Mowbray, 11. S. Ruddock, and H. M. Shepherd. MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Waihi Extended (December 9): Better progress has been made during the week in the advancement of the No. 2 crosscut owing to the soft and easy country now being penetrated. We are now in 276 ft, and it should not take long to accomplish 400 ft of driving. We should then be drawing near to the reef system, which 1 anticipate will be to hand early in the new year. At the No. 1 crosscut the Bride of Waihi workers are driving on the leader going towards the Bride propel ty. Vanguard (December 11): The low level crosscut, is now in a total distance of 1410 ft. The country being penetrated is a mild white sandstone, favourable for meeting with gold-bearing reefs. New Una (December 11): Satisfactory progress has been made in advancing the main crosscut. The vein of quartz, in conjunction with the flinty, was responsible for several pieces of rich gold-bearing stone obtained during the week. The flinty will junction with the reef being sought for, and the fact that it is gold-bearing augurs well for the future prospects of the mine.
