PUBLIC SCHOOL CADETS.

ADVERSE COMMENTS

[by telegraph.—press association.]

Wellington, Friday. The publio school cadet movement came in for some oriticism at to-day's meeting of tho Education Board. The chairman, Mr. J. Robertson, said the extremes that were gone to in this direction were positively ridiculous. He understood that, it did not go too well with teachers who failed to show enthusiasm for the cadet business. The boys' time would be much better spent at physical exercise than in such military show. Mr. Hogg, M.H.R., said there was a revulsion of feeling all over the country against it. The fact that such strenuous efforts' were being made to keep the movement alive showed it was losing ground.
