MAN DROWNED IN THE WAIKATO.

TRYING TO RESCUE HIS HORSE. , A man named Warbury was drowned in the Waikato River, between Ngaruawahia and Taupiri, on Saturday night. Warbury was a popular young man, and his death is much regretted. Deceased's horse . slipped into the water, and, as it was drowning, he jumped in without djvestjiig himself of any clothing, i in order to assist the struggling animal. He failed to get out of. the water himself, and his body could not be found, though Constable Cayanagli searched the river on Sunday. The deceased is believed not to have any relatives in the colony.
