MEETINGS.
AUCKLAND SWIMMING CLUE. At a committee meeting of the Auckland Swimming Club, held at the Amateur Sports Club rooms last evening, it was decided to hold a swimming gala in the Albert-street Baths on Wednesday evening, March 29. The following programme was drawn up, for which entries close on Friday evening next at the Sports Club rooms: — 50Yds maiden race (scratch); 72yds Calder memorial handicap; 108 yds plunge handicap; neat header; 36yds ladies' handicap; 72yds boys' (under 18 year.-) handicap; 50yds boys' (under 14 years) handicap; public schools' relay race.
MEETING OF DENTISTS. A meeting of the dentists of Auckland was held last night, when the following wcro present:—Dr. Cox (chairman), Messrs. A. A. Chatfield, A. A. White, 11. D. Bunby, C. 11. Moses, M. Carter, Morris, T. A. Lonergan, F. Butters, Bennett, F. ISallin, Hobbs, F. Odium, Gouisbone, F. Coulson, G. Fountain, Foster, 11. C. Chatfield, D.D.S., J. Y. Warren, D.D.S., Phillips, Walker, Rayburn, Kinucar, E. Carter, Tibbs, J. N. Hishworth, and J. A. Young (representing Waikato). A resolution was passed forming an Auckland Dental Association, and tho following officers were elected:—President, Mr. *A. W. Chatfield; vice-president, Mr. A. A. White; lion, secretary, Mr. H. Cox, D.D.S.; lion, treasurer, Mr. C. 11. Moses; committee, Messrs. A. M. Carter, W. N. Leathain, 11. D. Bunby, J. Y. Warren, D.D.S., J. N. Rishwortii. A further meeting was fixed for April 10 to adopt rules and constitution.
AUCKLAND A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the Show and Finance Committee of tho Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held in the association's rooms yesterday to _ make arrangements for tho annual meeting of the members, which is to be held on Friday next. Tho annual report and balance-sheet to be presented at that meeting were read by the secretary (Mr. E. Hall) and approved of. It was also decided to take steps to ascertain whether the agricultural societies throughout the colony would support a proposal to resuscitate the biennial agricultural conference in Wellington.
WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN TEMPERANCE UNION. A meeting of the Onehunga branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held at the Congregational Church mectingroom on Thursday evening. Mrs. Somervillo, sen., and Miss Burden were appointed delegates to the No-license Easter Convention.
