ENTERTAINMENTS.
MacMAHON'S DRAMATIC COMPANY. MacMahon'S Dramatic Company's popular combination enter upon their third week this evening, when another and distinctly novel production will be presented, viz., an original detective drama from the pen of Mr. George Darrell, entitled "From Scotland Yard." In the hands of such a capable company, theatre-goers may confidently look forward to-night to a treat of more than ordinary excellence. For weeks past a large mechanical staff have been busily engaged in preparing for to-night's production. Mr. Darrell will appear in his original character of Boy Wyndham, a part which he has played with unvarying success.
OPERA HOUSE,
Tlio entertainment provided by Fuller's vaudeville artistes at the Opera House last night met with the hearty approval of a large audience. The Reyes Trio of acrobats made their first appearance, and met with great success. Miss Florence Reyes* performance included swinging a- chair clenched in her teeth. A clever feat of slack-rope walking was given by Master Roy Reyes, his seniors holding the ends of the rope between their teeth. Mr. Harry Leeds and Miss Trixic Lemur pleased the audience with their many witty sayings. Messrs. Los. Wharton and Ted Anderson were also popular.
ROWLEY'S WAXWORKS. The programme submitted by Rowley's London Company at the Federal Hall last night was well received by the largo audi Mice present. Among the successful artistes was Miss Ada Rowley, who rendered "I Don't Know Why I Don't: Want No One But You," for which she was icpeatedly encored. The Amazon giantess (Madam Abotnah) and the waxworks came in for a considerable amount, of attention. A special programme for the children will be given this afternoon, and a change of programme will be presented to-night. On Monday night, a baby show for children under 12 months will be held.
VAN BIENE IN "THE BROKEN MELODY." Mr. George Musgrove's representative in Auckland received a cable from that gentleman yesterday notifying him that the Sydney Reason of August Van Bioiio had exceeded all expectations. Van Bicno and his London company appear in "The Broken Melody" at His Majesty's Theatre on Monday, March 27.
FAREWELL CONCERT TO MISS DORIS BOULT.
Tho arrangements for litis _concerfc are now complete. The programme is an excellent production, replete with novelties. Miss Margot Somerset will sing Mr. HilU new poi song. Madame Chambers will sing the ever-mm valse from Gounod's "Romeo and Juliet," and Mr. and Mrs. Hodges will give us groups of those charming short songs which are so much ill vogue on London programmes at present. The booking has begun at Wildman and Arey's, and bids fair to be very large. Miss Boult's passage is taken per P. and 0. steamer Victoria, leaving Sydney on April 26.
