A MOVING MOUNTAIN.

HALF AN INCH AN HOUR.

A COLLIERY THREATENED.

By Telegraph Prese Association.—Copyright.

London, March 16. A mountain overlooking Rhymey Valley, in Monmouthshire, is moving at the rate of half an inch an hour. Its base has been permeated by a stream, and quicksands have formed. The moving of the mountain has caused enormous land slides, and 10,000 tons of earth and rock has fallen.

The landslides threaten the colliery and buildings at New Tredegar. Work in the colliery has ceased, and 1200 men are idle.
