• London, March 16. The Commercial Intelligence Committee met at the office of the Board of Trade yesterday, and appointed Mr. R. J. Jaffray, director of. the Land and Loan Company of New Zealand, to conduct a commercial mission in' Australia and New Zealand.' Similar missions are to be sent to South Africa and elsewhere.
The Commercial Intelligence Committee belongs to the new commercial, labour, and statistical branch of the Board of Trade. Its business is to provide the public with accurate information on tariff and trade matters, wages, hours of labour, stale of the labour market, and condition of the working classes; also trades unions, strikes, and arbitration and conciliation.
