CYCLING.
T. Hall, the champion paced rider of the world, is desirous of coming to Australia, but, as paced racing has previously failed to draw in this part of the world, it is hardly likely Hall will bo asked to make the trip. For one thins, there is no one m Australia who could be matched against him. i heSummer Nights' Amusement Committee is, however, to consider the proposal. _ Interviewed in Christchurch on his return from Australia. R. Artist, who was one of the New Zealand representatives in the Warrnainbool-Melbourne road race, expressed the opinion that P. Lavcombe. who finished third in the Goulburn-Sydney race, and second with fastest time, in the. big event (Warrnambool to Melbourne), is the best road-racer in the Commonwealth at present. Judging from the remarks of Arnst and others, the New Zealauders had a good deal of bad luck one way and another in the race for the blue riband. • Owing to the number of mere boys who competed in the recent Dunlop road race from Warrnambool to Melbourne, the Dunlop Tyro Company will next year limit the nomination' to riders who are 18 years of age or over. The probabilities'are that the date of next year's big race will bo altered to the end of oeptember, with a view of missing the unsettled weather met in August every year. ,
