LAWN TENNIS.
The match, New Zealand v. New South Wales, commenced yesterday at Sydney, will be concluded to-day. The annual general meeting of the Eden and Epsom Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club was held od Wednesday evening last, in St. Barnabas' Parish Hall. There was a large attendance of members, the chair being taken by the presidont (Mr. Arthur Heather).. The report presented by the committee stated that the past season had been a very satisfactory one, some of the honours falling to club members being the ladies' championship doubles of New Zealand, won by the Misses Gorrie; three out of the five Auckland championships, viz., men's singles (won by Mr. J. P. Grossman), men's double; (won by Messrs. Cooke and Tumor), and combined doubles (won by Miss D. Udy and Mr. Billing). The club's lawns were used for the Auckland croquet championships, being the only full-sizeu courts in Auckland. The balance-sheot presented by the treasurer showed that the club's income for the year amounted to close on £200, and that there was a substantial balance of assets over liabilities. Officers for the ensuing season were elected as follows:—President, Mr. A. Heather (unanimously re-elect-ed); vice-presidents, Messrs. R. Udy, John Dawson, Horace Walker, L. D. Nathan. Edwin Brown. John Bollard, M.H.E., J. J. Craig, G. Dunnet, E. Yates, J. B. Macfarlane, S. Hesketh, D. L. Murdoch, F. Hull, Drs. Coates and Bull, and Professor Egerton; hon. secretary, Mr. Trevor Hull; boa. treasurer, Mr. Alan Brown; assistantseorofcary, Mr. Turner; auditor, Mr. E. Yates; delegates to association, Messrs. Alan Brown and H. R. Cooke; committee, Messrs. Bias, Cooke, C. Heather, H. IX Heather, T. S. Ruddock, and the officers ex officio; Ladies' Committee, Mosdames Hudson, Adkins, Beale, Walker. Mioses Hull, Bramwoll, S. Rico, P. Gorrie, Bleazard Brown, Oberliu Brown, Udy, and Stewart. Votes of thanks to the outgoing officers terminated the proceedings. _____
