DELPHIC AT DUNEDIN WHARF.

[ff! telegraph.—press association.] Dunedin, Wednesday. There was a gathering of shipping and commercial men on the Delphic to-day, when they w€?s entertained by the agents of the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company, and Captain Breen, to mark the fact of the Delphic being the largest vessel which has yet navigated the Victoria Channel, and berthed at Dunedin Wharf. Mr. John Roberts contrasted the Delphic with the ships of 250 tons or so, drawing eight or nine feet, which navigated the upper harbour with caution in the early days. Captain Breen said he had found no difficulty in navigating the channel, but he was not going to express an opinion till he saw how he fared in getting away.
