[At 'rEtEQBAPB. —OWN COEBESPONDENT. ] ; ,— .... WELtiNOIoNj Wednesday. Tea final instalment of subscriptions for the Wellington City loan of £330,000 was payable in London on Tuesday last. In regard to certain statements made by London journals,, to the effect that the attempt to float this loan was a failure, the. Wellington municipal authorities state that they have not yet received definite information as to the proportion which has been taken cp by the public. However, the fact . that the loan was underwritten at 96, a rate one .per cent, better than that of the Johannesburg loan of £1,500,000, is re- ". garded, as a satisfactory achievement.
