POLO
The members of the Auckland and Reninera Polo Clubs had their first really good practice for the season last Saturday afternoon. The ground was in good order, but the grass was a trifle long for long hitting. The new ponies shaped very well, particularly those owned by Messrs. Tonks, fianna, and Cotter. They were by no means as '" stick shy" as is usually the case with ponies at the commencement of a season.
Everything should be in capital trim for the opening day—Saturday next. A practice will take place this afternoon, and a Finance Committee meeting of both clubs will be held on tho ground.
