THE GOVERNOR.

His Excellency the Governor, with Captain Boscawen, Hon. A.D.C., lunched on board the cable steamer Jris yesterday, with Captain Lacey, and inspected the ship. Lady Ranfurly and .. party visited the United States gurfboat Wheeling yesterday, and were entertained by LieutenantCommander Minett and officers. Last evening His Excellency the Governor, Lady Constance Knox, Miss Ada Julius. Viscount Norlwuid, A.D.C., ana the Hon. H. O. Butler, Hon. A.D. attended a concert in St. Benedict's Hall, organised by Mr. P. Quinlan, in aid of the Veterans* Home. There will be a dinner party and reception at Government House this evening, to meet the Anglican Bishop of Auckland and Mrs Neligan. The reception is from half-past nine to half-past eleven. Lady Ranfurly attends a mothers' meeting at Onehunga on Friday next. . On Sunday morning next, His Excellency, Lady Ranfurly, and Government House party will attend St. Matthew's Church. . On Monday morning, June 1, the Governor will pay a visit to Rivsrhead.
