VIEWS OF THE PREMIER.
LAND FOR SETTLEMENT • [BY TELEGRAPH.OWN . CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Tuesday. The Premier, who returned to-day from his Northern trip, states that Kawhi a. has been kept back a3 a township owing to the difficulty regarding native lands.' There is a considerable area of land there, and it is probable now that the difficulty with the Maoris is removed a very large territory will be thrown open for settlement shortly. The time will come when boats from New Plymouth will call at Kawhi a, and when there will be railway communication with Otorohanga.
