AUCKLAND SHAREMARKET. There was little activity on the share market yesterday. Investment lines wen in fair demand, but no sales resulted. Fo) Auckland Gas (old) buyers advanced quo rations to £14, without sellers. In mining lines Te Puke Gold Reefs were done at 2f 4d. Maratotos sold in several lines at 8& Tairua Broken. Hills recovered, with sales rat 9s 9d, 10s, and 10s 3d, no late buyers quoting, sellers asking 10s 3d. In othei lines late prices ruled. COROMANDEL FREEHOLD PROPRIETARY. The half-yearly meeting of shareholders in the Coromandel Freehold Proprietary, called for yesterday, in the office of the legal manager (Mr. H. Gilfillan, Jan.), lapsed for want of a quorum. The balancesheet prepared showed a small credit balance. The directors' report stated that they were not aware of any progress having been made by the agents in the direction of selling the property. So far no portion of the mine had been let on tribute. MARATOTO G.M. CO. The contractors in the Maratoto Gold Mining Company's mine advanced the new crosscut 10ft dining the last week, making the entire distance driven 485 ft, and the distance still to be driven 35ft to reach the surveyed length to the Maratoto reef. BROKEN HILL G.M. CO.' The crosscut being put in from the No. 4- level in the Broken Hill Gold Mining Company's mine at Waiomo to intersect the reef has been driven 73ft. As the directors have decided to sink a. winze on the lode at No. 3 level to connect with the crosscut, Mr. E. F. Adams, the company's engineer, lias been instructed to lay off the spot to sink the winze and to verify the survey of the crosscut' to connect with the winze. WAIHI EXTENDED G.M, CO. At the Waihi Extended Cold Mining Company's mine the work of fixing the guides in both compartments of the shaft has been completed, in readiness for the cages. Until these have been procured, two skeleton cages have been made to steady the buckets in hoisting and lowering. The opening out for the chambers is in hand, and this work will be done as speedily as possible, in order that' the driving of the two crosscuts for the intersection of the reefs may be put in hand. THAMES TALISMAN G.M. CO. In the Thames Talisman mine'the south drive on the lode towards the Grand Trunk shale >«! now in 82ft from the junction. The reef in the face at present is larger than for some time past, being about 2ft 6in wide oi solid and kindly quartz, in breaking which good minerals are seen throughout the stone. The lode is in favourable aiidesite country, and fair progress is being made. The ore body wnich came in from the footwall side is expected to junction with the lode shortly. BARRIER REEFS G.M. CO. The liquidator of the Barrier Beefs Gold Mining Company has instructed Mr. R. C. Carr, auctioneer, to sell the. whole of the company s property. The sale takes place on Monday next. SOUTHERN MINING.
