THE FRENCH ELECTIONS.

Paris, April 28. In the elections M. .Paul Cassagnac was badly defeated. The Nationalists lost ground in the provinces, but increased their strength in Paris. The final results are expected to show that the Government have a net gain of forty to fifty seats. (Received April 30. 12.14 a.m.) Paris, April 29. A a a result of the flections the Reactionaries and Revolutionists are much weakened, and the anti-Semi-tic party has almost disappeared. The Ministerialists elected number 240, including— , * Republicans ... ... ... 48 Radicals „ 95 Socialist Radicals 41 Socialists 22 The Nationalists elected number 32, the Conservatives GG, antiMinisterial Republicans 66, and dissentient Socialists two.
Out of 175 second ballots required to be taken it is expected the Ministry will win 125, thus securing a steady majority of 100 in the Chamber of Deputies.
