At the opening of a bazaar at Paddington in aid of the funds of St. Francis' new presbytery, Cardinal Moran gave an address, in which he said The citizens of Australia all deplored the death of Queen Victoria, whom they loved, yet they rejoiced at King Edward's accession, and he did not hesitate to say that perhaps no sovereign in modern times had ascended the: throne with such and such favourable surroundings as did iving Edward VII..
