GREY LYNN DRAINAGE AND WATER SUPPLY.
A toll of the ratepayers in the Susses and Surrey Wards of the Grey Lynn Borough was taken yesterday on the proposal of the local authority to borrow the sum of £6000 for the purpose of providing a system of drainage and an extension of the present water supply for those wards. The proposal was carried by a largo majority, only 14 vote- being against, the proposal out of 166 votes recorded. In the Surrey Ward there were 67 votes for the proposal and seven against, and in the Sussex Ward 85 votes for the proposal and seven against. Messrs. Jno. Currie and T. Clarke acted as returning officers.
