[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] GiSBORNE, Friday. One of Gisbnrne's oldest settlers, Mr. Jas. Dunlop, died to-day, aged 82. He came to the district in 1819. During the past 12 months the capital value of the suburbs of Gisborne has increased by about £100.000. A movement for a Greater Gisborne is on foot. Wellington, Friday. A luncheon was given to-day at Bellamy's by the Ministry, in honour of a number of soldiers who have recently returned from South Africa, and of Mr. Charles Hudson, the recently-appointed manager of the Tasmanian railways. The Premier presided, and other members of the Ministry were present. Blenheim, Friday. An elderly man, James Townsend Edwards, employed ai the Awatere accommodation house, 16 miles from here, was found dead in his bed this morning. Dunkihn, Friday. The body of a man was found in the Botanical Gardens to-day, with a*» empty glass by his side, and a bottle containing ii liquid iii a pocket. An examination showed that his name was Carle Le Doax. about B'l years old. He is believed to have come here from Hobart, and had been staying at Wain's Hotel, but was evidently short of money.
