RAILWAY REFORM.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— During the session just ended we j were informed that the Minister for Rail- \ ways had promised to have Vaile's stage sys- ' tem tried on our Auckland lines on condition that the Department was secured against loss. Can you inform me if any steps have been taken in this matter ? What has become of Mr. Vaile ? Is he so absorbed in cpmbating those ridiculous people the single-taxers that he has no time for his particular work ? Naturally, I and others have expected to hear from him.—l am, etc., Old Stager.
