ABATTOIRS FOR CHRISTCHURCH.
[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CiiKiSTCHrECH, Tuesday. At a meeting of a special committee of the City Council, to discuss, the question of abattoire, the principle was affirmed that the city itself should build the abattoirs, and that no time should be lost in proceeding with the work. With that end in view offers of sites are now being advertised for, and arrangements have been made for the preparation of the necessary plans.
