SELLING LIQUOR IN THE KING COUNTRY.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Tr Awamutf, Tuesday. In the Magistrate's Court to-day, before Mr. H. W. Northcroft, S.M.. George Petehell, butcher, of Poro-o-tarao, King Country, was tharged, on two informations, with selling rhiskv to John H. Bell. Accused was feed £60, and costs £10 Is, in default four months' hard labour. His Worship stated tint had this been defendant's second offence he should have sent him to prison without the option of a fine. No time was allowed to pay the fine. Constable McPaee prosecuted.
